Agreement to Terms: By downloading, installing, or using MyGarage, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MyGarage mobile application ("App," "Service," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
2. Description of Service
MyGarage is a vehicle management application that helps you:
- Track multiple vehicles and their details
- Record maintenance history and receipts
- Monitor expenses and calculate total cost of ownership
- Set maintenance reminders
- Contribute to VIN-level maintenance history (automatic for all records)
- Sync data across devices (with subscription)
3. Account Registration
3.1 Account Requirements
- You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EU) to create an account.
- You must provide accurate and complete information.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
- You must use Google Sign-In to create and access your account.
3.2 Account Security
- You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
- We are not liable for losses due to unauthorized account access.
3.3 One Account Per User
Each user may have only one account. Creating multiple accounts to abuse features or bypass limitations is prohibited.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
4.1 Free Tier
MyGarage offers a free tier with limited features:
- Track up to 2 vehicles
- Basic maintenance records
- Ad-supported experience
- Local data storage only
4.2 Premium Subscriptions
Premium subscriptions unlock additional features:
- Monthly Premium ($1.99/month): Unlimited vehicles, cloud sync, ad-free, up to 4 vehicles included
- Annual Premium ($13.99/year): Same as monthly, save 41%
4.3 Add-On Purchases
- Vehicle Add-On ($0.99): Add 2 additional vehicle slots (one-time purchase)
- Fleet Pack ($4.99): Add 10 additional vehicle slots (one-time purchase)
4.4 Subscription Terms
- Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Cancellation: Cancel anytime through your App Store account settings. Access continues until the end of the paid period.
- No Refunds: Payments are non-refundable except as required by law. Refunds are handled by Apple per their policies.
- Price Changes: We may change subscription prices with 30 days' notice. Changes apply to new or renewing subscriptions.
4.5 Payment Processing
All payments are processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Your payment method will be charged through your Apple Account. For billing questions, contact Apple Support.
5. User Content and Data
5.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of all data you input into MyGarage:
- Vehicle information and maintenance records
- Photos and receipts you upload
- Notes and custom data
5.2 License to Use Your Content
By using MyGarage, you grant us a limited license to:
- Store and process your data to provide the Service
- Display your data back to you in the app
- Sync your data across your devices (if subscribed)
- Share anonymized maintenance history if you opt-in
5.3 Accuracy of Information
- You are responsible for the accuracy of all information you enter.
- We are not responsible for decisions made based on inaccurate data.
- VIN decoding information from NHTSA may be incomplete or incorrect.
5.4 Public Maintenance Sharing
When you record maintenance for a vehicle with a VIN:
- Service information (type, date, mileage) is automatically shared with other owners of the same VIN
- Your personal information (name, email, purchase price, notes) is NEVER shared
- Your receipts and photos remain private - only you can see them
- This helps create a comprehensive vehicle history that benefits all owners
6. Prohibited Uses
You agree NOT to:
- ❌ Use the App for any illegal purpose
- ❌ Violate any local, state, national, or international law
- ❌ Impersonate another person or entity
- ❌ Upload viruses or malicious code
- ❌ Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or disrupt the Service
- ❌ Scrape or harvest data from the App
- ❌ Abuse or harass other users
- ❌ Create fake or misleading maintenance records
- ❌ Use the App to commit fraud or misrepresentation
- ❌ Resell or redistribute the App or its content
7. Third-Party Services
MyGarage integrates with third-party services:
- NHTSA VIN Decoder: Free public API for vehicle specifications
- Google Sign-In: For account authentication
- Supabase: Cloud database for data sync (premium users)
- Apple In-App Purchase: For subscription management
These services have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content or practices.
8. Service Availability
8.1 "As Is" Service
MyGarage is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted or error-free service
- That the App will meet your specific needs
- That data will always be accurate or up-to-date
- That the Service will be available at all times
8.2 Service Changes
We reserve the right to:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service
- Add or remove features
- Change pricing (with notice)
8.3 Maintenance and Downtime
We may perform maintenance that temporarily interrupts service. We will try to provide advance notice when possible.
9. Data Backup and Loss
Important: While we implement robust backup systems, you are responsible for maintaining your own backups. We recommend regularly exporting your data through Settings → Data Management → Export Data.
9.1 Our Responsibility
- We maintain reasonable backup systems
- Premium subscribers benefit from cloud sync redundancy
- We cannot guarantee zero data loss in all circumstances
9.2 Your Responsibility
- Export important data regularly
- Keep local backups of critical information
- Maintain copies of important photos and receipts
9.3 Limitation of Liability
We are not liable for:
- Data loss due to device failure or user error
- Lost photos or receipts
- Consequences of inaccurate data
- Loss of data due to service interruptions
10. Intellectual Property
10.1 Our Rights
MyGarage and all related trademarks, logos, and intellectual property are owned by us. You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute our code or designs
- Use our branding without permission
- Create derivative works
10.2 User Feedback
If you provide feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.
11. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
11.1 No Warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MYGARAGE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- MERCHANTABILITY
- FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
- NON-INFRINGEMENT
- ACCURACY OF DATA
11.2 Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES
- LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, OR DATA
- BUSINESS INTERRUPTION
- LOSS OF VEHICLE VALUE OR MAINTENANCE RECORDS
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS (OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER).
11.3 Exceptions
Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations of liability. In such cases, our liability is limited to the extent permitted by law.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the App
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any law or rights of a third party
- Any content you submit or share
13. Termination
13.1 Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time through Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete My Data. Upon termination:
- Your account will be permanently deleted
- Your personal data will be removed within 30 days
- Anonymized maintenance history may be retained
- Active subscriptions will continue until the end of the paid period
13.2 Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
- You violate these Terms
- You engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
- You abuse the Service or harass other users
- We are required to do so by law
13.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your right to use the App ends immediately
- We may delete your data per our data retention policy
- No refunds will be provided for unused subscription time
- Sections of these Terms that should survive will survive
14. Dispute Resolution
14.1 Informal Resolution
Before filing a formal claim, please contact us to resolve the issue informally. We'll try our best to resolve disputes quickly and fairly.
14.2 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your State/Country - To be added], without regard to conflict of law principles.
14.3 Arbitration (US Users)
Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association rules, except:
- You may bring claims in small claims court
- Either party may seek injunctive relief in court
14.4 Class Action Waiver
You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis. You waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do:
- We will update the "Last Updated" date
- We will notify you via in-app notification or email
- Material changes will require your acceptance
- Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.
17. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and MyGarage regarding the Service.

19. Apple-Specific Terms
For users who download the App from the Apple App Store:
- These Terms are between you and MyGarage, not Apple
- Apple is not responsible for the App or its content
- Apple has no obligation to provide support
- Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms
- In case of conflicts, Apple's terms prevail regarding Apple services
